Despite the Chinese government promising to enter into talks with the Philippines to discuss the rights of the Filipino fisherfolk, they continue to experience harassment from the Chinese Coastguard.
BIGKIS Pangasinan Vice-President Christopher de Vera posted a video showing rubber boats chasing away Filipino fisherfolk. The incident took place in Feburary 2023.

This continues the trend of the Chinese Coastguard's intimidation against Philippines' fishermen.
Another incident occurred last January 9, 2023 in Ayungin Shoal where Filipinos were chased away by the Chinese coastguard.
