Filipino geodetic engineer and astronomer Dante Yglopaz, aged 84, is the only surviving member of the 1961 survey of Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal by the Bureau of Coast and Geodetic Survey with the US Army Map Service-Far East.
In this interview he recounts that week-long research 61 years ago to pinpoint the exact coordinates of the Philippine territory.
